Trust has become a central theme for me in 2020, both in business and in life - so I thought I would share with you my take on Divine Timing.
In E77 of the Podcast I talk more about trusting in the timing - to listen in CLICK HERE
2020 has been coined a “NO FORCING ZONE”.
No forcing relationships.
No forcing ideas.
No forcing business.
No forcing that button on your jeans to do up.
If it is meant for you, you won’t have to force it.
Because here is the thing about Divine Timing - you are always right on time.
You are right where you need to be.
You are learning the lessons you need to learn.
You are having the experiences you need to have.
You, and your life are on purpose.
BUT.
This does not mean that we move forward without action, that we take a back seat to our own existence, that we expect the universe to simply deliver without any steps on our part.
For example…
Say you want to run a marathon, and so you manifest yourself running the exhilarating 26.2 miles, you visualize how you would feel before, during and after.
But - you don’t sign up for a race, you don’t do any physical training.
Now maybe you are quite naturally fit and one day you go out and you run 26.2 miles somewhere. But the likelihood is, because you didn’t take any action, this marathon probably won’t happen.
Life is a lot like that too.
We can envision the future we want for ourselves (this is in fact an important part of the process) - but if we don’t take any steps to get there, we will stay right where we are.
If nothing changes, then quite literally, nothing changes - we need action to create clarity, because clarity is an incredibly important piece of the puzzle.
Here’s how...
The clarity we get are the lessons we learn from everything that we do.
We figure out what works, and what doesn’t.
We discover what we like, and what we don’t.
But most importantly, we see what lands & comes together, and what doesn’t.
I’ll give you another example here…
In E77 of my Podcast, I talk about how being told no to a $100,000 grant is actually what helped me to step into my next level.
Sounds crazy right?
But here is the thing - if I had received the $100,000 grant, my life would’ve taken an entirely different trajectory, one that wasn’t meant for me.
Instead, the process of applying for the grant helped me to solidify the direction I wanted to take in my work - the action created the clarity, and in this way helped me not only move forward with greater purpose, but step into my next level of being.
You might be thinking - were you not disappointed being told no after putting in all that work?
Of course I was!
But I also didn’t let it slow me down - I trusted that being told no was exactly what I needed.
Which brings us all the way back around to the theme of trust.
It is easy to say that we trust in the timing of our lives. That we trust other people. That we trust ourselves. But really, at the core of it, trust is a pretty terrifying concept.
And that is okay.
Trust is a practice.
It is a practice of humbling our expectations.
A practice of finding as much joy and gratitude in our present circumstance as possible.
And just like us, this practice isn’t perfect - it’s a learn as we go type situation.
But if you can get to a place where you truly trust that everything is happening as it should be, then you stop forcing things into your life that aren’t meant for you, and you make space for the more incredible, more aligned things that are.
Now this doesn’t mean that it won’t be challenging at times - we are here in this life to learn the lessons that are required for us to reach that next level. And then the next. And then the next. And these will be difficult at times, if not all the time.
But if you are constantly trying to force things into your life, you have no space left for the things that are truly meant to be there - and they are beyond your wildest dreams.
And so I challenge you to bring more joy to the process, to not get stuck in the trap of perfection, and to keep trying, and trying, and trying to put your ideas out into the world - because when the timing is right, and it all comes together, it will feel SO damn good!
